１年の中で最も昼の長い夏至 −−− 中世の七不思議 として挙げられるストーンヘンジの話題；

    • 夏至の日に、ヒール・ストーンと呼ばれる高さ6mの玄武岩と、中心にある祭壇石を結ぶ直線上に太陽が昇る / ストーンヘンジは北東-南西に向いており、至点と昼夜平分点に特段の重要性が置かれたのだと考えられている。例えば、夏至の朝には太陽はヒールストーンの付近から昇り、太陽の最初の光線は馬蹄形の配置の中にある遺跡の中央に直接当たる。このような配置は単なる偶然では起こりえない。 （上掲 ウィキペディア より）
