−−−Robert Serry, the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, expressed his concern at the decision taken yesterday by Israeli authorities to advance planning for a large number of new settlement units in East Jerusalem. / He said the decision ignores the Quartet’s appeal of last Friday to the parties to refrain from provocative actions. This sends the wrong signal at this sensitive time. If the Secretary-General, along with the President of the International Criminal Court, took part in an act of war, as was the case in Libya, nothing could be expected from the current structure. There was no longer time for reforms. If the commitment was not made for “re-founding” the United Nations, the Organization would lose its remaining credibility. That re-founding must start with the elimination of both the permanent membership and power of the veto in the Security Council. The General Assembly’s decision-making power should be democratically maximized and the Charter should be reviewed with the aim of drafting a new one. 南米の狂犬チャベスなどと揶揄されますが、私はその指摘は非常に的確と思いますがね。彼はここ何年か同じことを言い続けており、今回は切れ気味。現在の国連とかけて戦後某国に押し付けられた日本国憲法と解く、そのココロは？ お題目は立派であるが、立派過ぎて、権力を握る者が勝手に拡大解釈・曲解することを許す存在。どこをどう舐り回したら国連が武力によるメンバー国の政府転覆に加担出来るのか？ あるいは虎の子の自衛隊 （災害救助だって立派な自衛行為でしょ） を戦地に送れるのか？
