　　※ 奥様の状態が気にかかっていてこなせる任務では無く、ダンナさんが搭乗するかどうか微妙な時期もあった様ですから、二重におめでたいこと。 （そういや以前、 「市長の代わりは幾らでもいるが、妻にとって私の代わりはいない」 と宣言して看病のため辞任された市長さんがいらっしゃいましたっけ。その心境だったでしょう。）

　　ところで記事中 「最後の打ち上げとなるスペースシャトル」 とありますが、確かに軌道船 エンデバー の飛行は最後ですが、スペースシャトル 計画としては、最後から２番目のミッションの様です。事情は；

　●STS-134 ミッション より抜粋；

　　※ 本飛行がエンデバーの最後の飛行となる。スペースシャトルの最後の飛行となる予定だったが、後にSTS-135が追加されたため最後から2番目となった。　（中略）　船長 （Commander） マーク・ケリー （以下略、引用終わり）

　●STS-135 ミッション より抜粋；

　　※ STS-135は元々、シャトル最後の飛行STS-134がトラブルによって地球に帰還できなくなった際に行われる救出ミッション（STS-335）として計画されており、STS-134のミッション中は打ち上げ可能の状態で地上待機している予定だった。STS-134が無事に帰還した場合はミッション取り消しの予定であったが、費用をかけて準備をしておいてから飛行しないのは無駄であるため、ミッションを取り消さずにそのままSTS-135として飛行することがNASAから求められた。その後2010年9月にSTS-135の予算が議会で認められ、正式にSTS-135の飛行が決定した。　（以下略、引用終わり）

　　※ 日本語版では上掲の様に断定的に書かれていますが、 英語版 ではもう少し詳しく書かれています； "While the mission has been authorized, it has no appropriation in the NASA budget, raising questions about whether the mission will fly at all. （中略） there had been no official references to STS-135 mission in NASA official documentation for the general public." どちらが最新の状況を反映しているかは未確認。
