COOK: The Department of Defense continues to believe that, with the help of the government of Japan, that this project will be able to move forward. We thank the government of Japan for its efforts in this regard, and, again, we believe that ultimately -- that the relocation of that facility is in the best interests of the people of Okinawa, as well. And we're going to continue to work closely with the government of Japan moving forward to try and make that happen.”

    　※ 沖縄の米軍と同じ； 「戦争になれば米軍基地を擁する沖縄はターゲットになる」 「米軍が一番嫌がるのは（今回のような）市民大会であり、相手にとって『無言の圧力』になる」 と読み替えても真なり。少なくとも米国内では、周辺住民に迷惑をかける基地は存在し得ませんから。米国内の有権者にこの現実を出来るだけ広く知らしめることも有効。
