２０１２年敬老の日に投稿の 過去記事 でも紹介した映画 グリーンマイル （小説、映画） では；
- ”しかし、コーフィの冤罪を覆す証拠は存在せず、死刑執行が決定される。ポールたちはコーフィに脱獄を勧めるが、「毎日のように、世界中の苦しみを感じたり聞いたりすることに疲れたよ」と言いコーフィはそれを拒否して死ぬことを選んだ。数日後、コーフィは電気椅子に送られ、ポールの手で処刑された。
その後、ポールは108歳になっても健康に生き続け、ミスター・ジングルス （ネズミ） も60年以上生き続けていた。これはコーフィの力の副作用によるものだったが、ポールは自分がコーフィを処刑したことで神から罰を与えられ、家族や友人全員より長生きすることになると信じている。そしてミスター・ジングルスの異常な長寿ぶりから、自分が死ぬのは遠い先のことだろうと考えている。”
