麻薬所持によりマレーシアで逮捕され裁かれる邦人女性のこと　続報　他

２００９年１１月０２日に紹介の標題の女性について私が見つけられた数少ない報道 （フルネームもお縄になった写真も掲載されています） からその後を見ますと；


死刑判決があり得る裁判ですし、上訴も認められている様ですから、今日明日に判決と云った性格のものではなさそう。ちなみに過去のケースを幾つか見ると；

    Kuala Lumpur: A 48-year-old Indian was Friday sentence to death by the Malaysian High Court which convicted him of drug trafficking.　（中略）


    Athiseshan （被告の名前） was arrested at the customs examination counter of the airport July 26, 2008.

    −−−In Malaysia, the High Court Wednesday handed down death sentences to two men, Kairil Anuar Abdul Rahman, 34, and Afendi Adam, 28, for trafficking a little under two pounds of pot six years ago. The pair, a restaurant worker and a painter, respectively, were arrested in March 2002 for selling 971 grams of marijuana. Judicial Commissioner Ridwan Ibrahim said the court had no choice but to impose the death sentences after the men were found guilty. Attorneys for the pair are expected to appeal both the convictions and the sentences.　（以下事項に続く）

麻薬に関しては；

  • The Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, at Section 39B on possessing and distributing drugs, also carries a mandatory death sentence. Possession of 200 grams of cannabis is enough to put one away for a 20-year life sentence. Trafficking in more than 200 grams of dangerous drugs carries a death sentence.


※ このサイトによれば Date of last execution: 27-12-2002 とのことですから、死刑に対する批判を考慮して意図的に上級審に時間をかけているのか、執行を控えているのか、でしょうか？


そういや、シュワちゃんの加州では、カネのためマリワナを合法化するかどうかの住民投票が行われるとのこと；

−−−　連邦法ではマリフアナは明確に違法とされており、もし解禁に踏み切ったとしても法律的な整合性がどうなるかなどの課題も残る。　（以下略）

ついでに麻薬関係でもうひとつ；　南米コロンビアの女性が 国際刑事警察機構：、ICPO、インターポール から国際指名手配されていることが報道されていました；

    −−−逮捕された数人が、麻薬密輸組織のリーダーとしてサンクレメンテさんと、サンクレメンテさんの恋人の名前を挙げたことから、国際指名手配となった。現在はアルゼンチン当局がサンクレメンテさんの行方を追っている。


    一方、サンクレメンテさんはフェイスブックでCNNに対し、関与を否定。「ひどい情報が流れて悲しく、傷ついている。なぜ報道メディアが、無実の個人を攻撃できるのか分からない」と訴えている。


    また、サンクレメンテさんの母親が雇ったという弁護士は、本人がアルゼンチン国内で拘束されることを嫌がっていると説明。美しいモデルだったことから強姦される恐怖があると述べている。また、アルゼンチンの控訴裁判所に対し、もしもサンクレメンテさんが出廷しても、拘束されないで審問を受けられるよう求める訴えを起こした。　（以下略）


Facebook は見ていませんが、濡れ衣であるのか真実なのかはうかがい知れません。ただこの女性、過去のミスコンで一悶着起こした前科 ？ がありますから、コロンビアではあまり好意的には見られていないかも。
